Binary Flat Earth

The Occlusion Field blocks instruments. Not consciousness.

Counterplane Awakening studies report perception at the Binary Flat Earth boundary through bilateral attention, threshold sittings and supervised retreat practice.

Counterplane Awakening

The Premise

The model draws the boundary. We approach it from within.

Counterplane Awakening turns the Binary Flat Earth Model inward: a shared practice of stillness and trained attention at the threshold between the planes.

i

The Binary Flat Earth Model describes a paired world. The Primary Plane, where ordinary life and measurement occur, faces an opposed Counterplane, a second terrestrial plane inferred rather than observed. Together they form a coupled system beneath paired firmaments.

ii

Between them lies the Equilibrium Void. It is an active field-interaction zone where Mutual Planar Gravitation draws the planes together and Opposed Dome Polarity holds them apart. Their magnetogravitic coupling preserves the non-contact equilibrium between the planes.

iii

Janus particles populate the void. Janus particles have two regions with different physical or chemical properties, allowing each face to interact differently with its surroundings. The Meridian Boundary Institute, which formalised the model, proposes that boundary particles orient one face toward the Primary Plane and the other toward the Counterplane.

iv

Within the void, this convergence generates the Bilateral Occlusion Field. It prevents direct observation, physical traversal and signal coherence between the planes. Instruments cannot cross the limit; the field remains silent on whether consciousness shares it.

v

Counterplane Awakening accepts this foundation and turns the question inward. Through bilateral attention, threshold sittings and supervised retreats, practitioners ask whether consciousness can register what instruments cannot. The Janus Mudra brings the same bilateral order into the body: one palm opposed to the other, held in resonance.

vi

Altered and bilateral states become the investigative method. Practitioners seek steadiness, self-knowledge, equilibrium and connection, with no promised result. Experiences are logged and held open as contact, imagination, spiritual experience or something unresolved. The mirror holds, the mind remembers.

The mirror holds, the
mind remembers.

The phrase is repeated before practice, after logs, and in the rooms where people are most tempted to overclaim. It reminds members that the work begins with reflection and memory – what was noticed, what was recorded, and what must remain unproven.

Bilateral Practice

Guided practice at the threshold.

Counterplane Awakening practises disciplined bilateral attention through small-group sittings, immersive retreats and ongoing circles. Each format pairs inward practice with careful reflection and record.

Threshold Sittings

Closed-room facilitated sittings in bilateral attention. Small cohorts, low light, no devices. The baseline practice from which every other protocol descends.

Equilibrium Void Retreats

Multi-day desert residencies held at the conceptual midline between the paired planes. Candlelight, silence, fasting from ordinary stimulus, and long threshold sittings.

Dream Mapping Circle

A standing cohort logging and cross-indexing dream imagery for recurring counter-horizon structures. Shared journals, anonymised, reviewed in weekly circle.

The Janus Mudra is a form of bilateral signalling that initiates a Janus Relay. The resulting opposed palm resonance facilitates Counterplane connection.

The People

The people behind the practice.

Counterplane Awakening brings ceremony and method into the same practice. Sera Lorne creates the conditions for threshold work; Callum Rook turns private experience into a shared record.

Facilitator · Counterplane Awakening

Sera Lorne

Sera Lorne leads the founding Threshold Sittings and Equilibrium Void retreats. Her work combines bilateral attention with grounding, silence and a ceremonial structure designed to keep participants close to what they experienced, rather than what they hoped to find.

The Occlusion Field is not a wall. It is a condition of ordinary perception.

Lead · Bilateral Consciousness Project

Callum Rook

Callum Rook leads the Bilateral Consciousness Project. A former systems engineer, he developed its practice-log methods for comparing recurrence, drift and contradiction across participant reports.

If the model is correct, the question is no longer whether the Counterplane exists – but which forms of cognition are still being occluded.

The Protocols

Methods for approaching the boundary.

Each protocol is a documented method of approach – classified, staged and held to a status. Across the movement, people describe what follows as contact, connection, altered perception, spiritual experience or something unresolved.

Field Method · CA-01

Paired Observer Protocol

Two participants hold bilateral attention in synchronised sittings, then independently log perceptual residue for later comparison and drift analysis.

Observational
Field Method · CA-04

Counterplane Remote Viewing

Structured perception exercises oriented toward Counterplane-adjacent targets. Observers compare their accounts for consistency while differing over what the results mean.

Disputed
Perceptual · CA-06

Mirror Dome Visualisation

Dome-projected paired-plane imagery used to induce and sustain bilateral attention under controlled, repeatable conditions.

Observational
Preparatory · CA-09

Sensory Reduction Sequence

Graded sensory deprivation lowering ordinary perceptual load. A preparatory state, not an endpoint – always supervised, always staged.

Preparatory
Oneiric · CA-11

Bilateral Dream Mapping

Longitudinal dream logging cross-indexed for recurring counter-horizon imagery and shared structural motifs across a cohort.

Testimonial
Restricted · CA-14

Extended Threshold Vigil

Facilitator-led overnight sittings held without compounds. Restricted to vetted cohorts; a sober observer remains present for the full vigil.

Restricted

Half research, half ritual.

Counterplane Awakening keeps practice logs because memory drifts and groups exaggerate. Participants may regard recurring reports as evidential; the archive preserves them alongside dissent, expectation effects and failed sessions.

Featured post excerpt

“Janus Mudra is not a symbol you perform at the world. It is a way of holding the world at the solar plexus: Primary above, Counterplane below, the palms allowing opposed resonance without forcing contact.”

Tom Arden · practice moderator · excerpt from the June alignment thread

Beyond this room

One model, held by many hands. The Meridian Boundary Institute maintains its formal science and hosts the interactive model, where the paired planes can be seen whole. Counterplane Awakening carries those questions inward into consciousness and practice. Janus Earth holds the public record and wider conversation; Second Sky follows the model's stranger horizons. Each speaks in its own name, and all read from the same sky. Begin anywhere.
