Threshold Sittings
Closed-room facilitated sittings in bilateral attention. Small cohorts, low light, no devices. The baseline practice from which every other protocol descends.
Binary Flat Earth
Counterplane Awakening is a movement-side response to the binary flat Earth model, focused on threshold practice, bilateral attention, and reported perception around binary planar cosmology.
The Meridian Boundary Institute describes the Counterplane as inaccessible to direct observation. We begin there — with the question the institute will not ask publicly: what else might perception become when ordinary consciousness is quieted?
Counterplane Awakening
The Premise
Counterplane Awakening accepts the institute's occlusion premise in full — and then asks the one question the science cannot ask: if every instrument is sealed inside the same occluded system, is the observing mind sealed with it?
Meridian holds that the Counterplane is inaccessible to direct observation. The Bilateral Occlusion Field forecloses instrumental contact across the boundary.
Every instrument operates inside the occluded physical system. A measurement cannot exceed the limits of the field it is built within.
Meridian's Janus-particle hypothesis gives the void its name-language. Janus particles are real two-faced particles in ordinary science; MBI applies the term to proposed boundary particles with one face toward the Primary Plane and one toward the Counterplane.
The movement asks whether consciousness shares that limit — or whether perception, quieted and trained, registers Counterplane-adjacent structure indirectly.
Altered and bilateral states become an investigative method: not proof, but approach. We do not claim crossing. We study the phenomenology of the threshold.
The formal institute does not endorse this interpretation. Counterplane Awakening is movement-side. Meridian provides the terminology, not the blessing.
The mirror holds, the mind remembers.
The phrase is repeated before practice, after logs, and in the rooms where people are most tempted to overclaim. It reminds members that the work begins with reflection and memory — what was noticed, what was recorded, and what must remain unproven.
Bilateral Practice
Counterplane Awakening frames practice as disciplined attention work — small cohorts studying perceptual occlusion, bilateral signalling, and Counterplane-adjacent cognition under guided conditions.
Closed-room facilitated sittings in bilateral attention. Small cohorts, low light, no devices. The baseline practice from which every other protocol descends.
Projection-dome work pairing a primary-plane field with its mirrored counterpart, holding both in view until the boundary between them is felt rather than seen.
Sustained division of attention across two opposed fields without collapse into one. The core discipline the movement treats as trainable, gradual, and measurable in testimony.
Multi-day desert residencies held at the conceptual midline between the paired planes. Candlelight, silence, fasting from ordinary stimulus, and long threshold sittings.
A standing cohort logging and cross-indexing dream imagery for recurring counter-horizon structures. Shared journals, anonymised, reviewed in weekly circle.
A staged sensory and dietary reduction designed to lower ordinary occlusion before threshold work. Supervised, preparatory, never undertaken alone.
The People
A facilitator who gives the movement its ceremonial authority, and a systems theorist who gives it the language of research.
Facilitator · Counterplane Awakening
The emotional and ceremonial centre of the movement. Calm, intense, composed — she leads the Equilibrium Void retreats and the founding threshold practice. Wellness culture spoken in technical vocabulary; certainty held quietly enough to unsettle.
The Occlusion Field is not a wall. It is a condition of ordinary perception.
Lead · Bilateral Consciousness Project
Ex-systems engineer turned consciousness theorist. He supplies the movement's practice-log infrastructure — connecting cognition, neurotechnology, and binary planar terminology without turning participant reports into scientific validation. Articulate, expensively calm, and a degree too certain about speculative cognition.
If the model is correct, the question is no longer whether the Counterplane exists — but which forms of cognition are still being occluded.
Public interpreter Tatiana Ardenne has covered the movement without endorsing its claims, and formal terminology remains the work of the Meridian Boundary Institute.
The Protocols
Each protocol is a documented method of approach — classified, staged, and held to a status. None of them claim contact. All of them study the boundary.
Two participants hold bilateral attention in synchronised sittings, then independently log perceptual residue for later comparison and drift analysis.
Structured perception exercises oriented toward Counterplane-adjacent targets. Compared for consistency across observers, never treated as accuracy of contact.
Dome-projected paired-plane imagery used to induce and sustain bilateral attention under controlled, repeatable conditions.
Graded sensory deprivation lowering ordinary perceptual load. A preparatory state, not an endpoint — always supervised, always staged.
Longitudinal dream logging cross-indexed for recurring counter-horizon imagery and shared structural motifs across a cohort.
Facilitator-led, medically screened sessions exploring threshold phenomenology. Restricted to vetted cohorts under legal retreat conditions.
Half research, half ritual. Never evidence.
Counterplane Awakening keeps practice logs because memory drifts and groups exaggerate. A repeated report is a repeated report, not Meridian validation, not contact, and not proof.
Testimony · Fragments
Participant logs and transcript excerpts, held loosely. Texture, not evidence. The movement records what perception reported, not what was confirmed.
“I did not see a place. I felt the direction of another surface.”
“The second sky arrived as pressure, not image.”
“Ordinary perception is not neutral. It is trained by the Primary Plane.”
“We are not contacting a civilisation. We are learning whether the boundary has a phenomenology.”
“The instruments stopped at the boundary. My attention did not feel like it stopped.”
“For a moment there were two horizons and I was held between them.”
Bilateral Consciousness Project
The Bilateral Consciousness Project collects participant reports on whether bilateral attention seems to register Counterplane-adjacent patterns beyond ordinary observation. Its notes borrow technical vocabulary; the claims remain movement-side, disputed, and not an MBI programme.
BCP Note 02
Working paper
Internal reviewFrames the central wager: that the failure of instruments at the boundary need not imply the failure of attention. Sets the terms the later trials are measured against.
BCP Field Memo
Field memo
ObservationalReports recurring convergence and divergence patterns between synchronised observers in the Paired Observer Protocol. Notes structure; declines to claim cause.
Dream Map Index
Index
TestimonialA cross-indexed catalogue of repeated horizon-inversion motifs across the Dream Mapping Circle. Suggestive of shared structure; explicitly not held as contact.
Protocol Review
Review
DisputedThe project's most contested argument — that the very inaccessibility Meridian documents is itself the phenomenon worth studying. Reviewed; disputed; retained.

Upper palm down, lower palm up, hands held at centre body, opposed palm resonance implied rather than overdrawn.
future asset · workbook_v3_scan.jpg
Practice handout or retreat workbook page, mostly redacted or illegible so AI text artifacts do not become the point.
future asset · copper_rods_table.jpg
Copper rods, tea, sound bowl, candle wax. Ordinary enough to feel posted by a member, not staged for a campaign.
future asset · white_hallway_dream.jpg
Subtle dream image for the repeated white hallway threads. Quiet and strange, no horror treatment.
future asset · second_sky_redacted_notes.jpg
Redacted notes or signal sheet for the faction-watch area. It should suggest controversy without showing protocols.
These placeholders define the first image batch. The images should look like an archive gathered by a community, not a polished brand shoot.

A moderated practice board for Counterplane Awakening members, retreat attendees, and independent Bilateral signalling practitioners.
Pinned orientation
Share practice notes. Ask careful questions. Begin with grounding. The Forum is for bilateral signalling, Janus Mudra alignment, opposed palm resonance, retreat reports, and the small strange things people notice when they sit with the field.
Beginner heat, pressure, tingling, doubt, expectation, first sittings.
Solar plexus hand position, upper/lower palm alignment, breath and posture.
The felt field between the palms: warmth, pulse, asymmetry, quiet pressure.
Dream logs, mirrored rooms, déjà vu, childhood returns, recurring hallways.
Notes from Ubud, Byron Bay, Castlemaine, Blue Mountains, online circles.
Paired journaling, synchronicities, coded coincidences, careful pattern work.
Grounding, aftercare, anxiety after practice, when to pause, how to come back.
Lay readings of Meridian language, useful misunderstandings, source links.
Contained discussion of the more radical faction, warnings, boundary notes.

“Janus Mudra is not a symbol you perform at the world. It is a way of holding the world at the solar plexus: Primary above, Counterplane below, the palms allowing opposed resonance without forcing contact.”

Where this stands
Counterplane Awakening is not an official project of the Meridian Boundary Institute. It is a movement-side interpretation of the public record surrounding the binary flat Earth model, bilateral practice, and perception-based approaches to the Counterplane problem.
Meridian Institute model
Counterplane practice borrows its formal geometry from the Meridian Boundary Institute. The interactive Binary Flat Earth Model is hosted there as a research artefact, not as movement doctrine.
